Here’s a recipe for a wholesome, all-natural hydration drink that Joe and I used during our marathon training this past summer, as well as during the 2015 Tupelo Marathon and 2015 Chattanooga CityTrail 30K race. This recipe makes enough for our three 20oz hydration bottles. Joe normally carries two on his hydration vest and I carry one on my running belt.
½ cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
1 cup Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
¼ teaspoon Himalayan Sea Salt
3 – 4 tablespoons of sweetner – I use Organic Coconut Palm Sugar
5 cups of water – more or less depending on how strong you would like it to be
Mix in blender. Then pour into hydration bottles.
